Feaster Center Fire Alarm Replacement

Background

Fairmont State University (FSU), established in 1865 and located in Fairmont, West Virginia, is seeking qualified contractors to submit bids for the Feaster Center Fire Alarm Replacement project. The university is committed to providing a safe environment for its nearly 3,700 students and has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence. This project aims to enhance campus safety through the installation of a new fire alarm system.

Work Details

The contractor will provide labor, materials, equipment, supplies, and services necessary for the installation of a new addressable voice fire alarm system throughout the Feaster Center building. This includes all notification devices and alarm devices, as well as interconnection with the existing door security system and campus monitoring system. Additionally, the contractor will disconnect and completely remove the two existing fire alarm systems currently in place within the building.

Period of Performance

The contractor is expected to achieve substantial completion within 150 consecutive calendar days from the issuance of FSU's Notice to Proceed and final completion within 180 consecutive calendar days.

Place of Performance

All work will take place at Fairmont State University, located in Marion County, West Virginia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be duly licensed to perform construction work in West Virginia as per state regulations. They are required to submit a bid guaranty along with their bid form. Additionally, bidders must provide a breakdown of their base bid and submit affidavits attesting compliance with Fairmont State University's policies on purchasing and drug-free workplace standards if their bid exceeds $100,000.
