Background

The Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks is seeking bids for the replacement of the outboard motor on a 2005 20ft center console trophy patrol boat. The agency's mission is to manage and protect the state's natural resources. This contract aims to ensure the operational readiness of their patrol boats by upgrading to a more efficient motor.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the removal of the existing 2005 200 horsepower two-stroke Mercury Optimax IL motor and controls, and the purchase and installation of a new 200 horsepower Mercury four-stroke outboard motor. The specifications for the new motor include:

V6 (24 valve double overhead cam) - Propeller: Stainless steel propeller of proper pitch and size - Steering: Hydraulic steering - Trim: Power trim & tilt. Additionally, all necessary steering adapters must be included in the quote. The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks will deliver the patrol boat to the vendor for installation. If the vendor is located outside Kansas, they must pick up the boat, install the motor, and return both the boat and removed motor to its original location at 1426 Hwy US-183 Alt, Hays KS 67601.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed by June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the contractor's facility if located outside Kansas or at the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks' location in Hays, KS.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a current Tax Clearance Certificate with their bid submission. They are also required to comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding immigration reform as per IRCA. Additionally, bidders must submit forms related to sexual harassment policies and confirm they are not engaged in a boycott of Israel as per HB 2482.
