Northern Lights Boulevard Sound Barrier Fence Construction

Background

The Municipality of Anchorage, through its Project Management and Engineering Department, is issuing an Invitation to Bid for the Northern Lights Boulevard Sound Barrier Fence Construction project. The project aims to enhance noise reduction for the surrounding community by constructing a sound barrier fence along E. Northern Lights Boulevard between Princeton Way and Drake Drive. This initiative aligns with the municipality's commitment to improving the quality of life for its residents.

Work Details

The project consists of approximately 510 linear feet (L.F.) of fence removal and temporary fencing; 587 L.F. of sound barrier fence installation; 105 L.F. of tree protection zone fencing; construction of 3 trellis structures; landscaping and related work. Specific tasks include: - Furnishing and installing a sound barrier fence as shown on the Drawings. - Removing existing fencing, installing temporary fencing, and installing tree protection zone fencing. - Installing new fence extensions as indicated. - Furnishing and installing trellis structures as per specifications. - Landscaping as detailed in the Drawings. - All work must comply with the Municipality of Anchorage Standard Specifications dated 2024.

Period of Performance

The project is expected to be substantially completed within sixty (60) calendar days after the Notice-to-Proceed is issued, with a total contract duration of seventy (70) days.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed within the corporate limits of the Municipality of Anchorage, specifically on the south side of E. Northern Lights Boulevard between Princeton Way and Drake Drive.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with specific requirements including: - No references to compliance with Anchorage Municipal Code Chapter 7.60 regarding Disadvantaged/Women Owned Business (DBE/WBE) program are required. - Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes addressed to the MOA Purchasing Department. - The contractor must provide a Work Plan for approval by the Engineer prior to beginning construction, which minimizes disruptions to traffic and local residents.
