Summary: Background The Carpenter Substation Stage 03 project is issued by the Western Upper Great Plains Region of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) under the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA). The mission of WAPA is to market and deliver reliable, cost-based hydroelectric power and related services. This contract aims to enhance the infrastructure at the Carpenter Substation in South Dakota, with a project magnitude estimated between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for various construction tasks including: - Mobilization and preparatory work - Miscellaneous sitework - Demolition - Cable trenches - Concrete foundations for government-furnished equipment - Installation of steel structures (welded and galvanized) - Installation of power circuit breakers (230kV & 115kV) - Installation of disconnecting switches (230kV & 115kV) - Installation of coupling capacitor voltage transformers - Control cable installation (5/C No. 10 AWG & 12/C No. 10 AWG) - Fiber optic equipment installation. Period of Performance The contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days after receiving the notice to proceed and complete it within 360 calendar days. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at the Carpenter Substation located in South Dakota. Bidder Requirements Bidders must provide performance and payment bonds within 10 calendar days after award. Additionally, bidders are required to have appropriate contractor licensing for the work involved in this solicitation.
