Background

The Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) of the State of Maine is responsible for issuing the Commercial Driver License (CDL) manuals and addendums to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. The goal of this contract is to produce a comprehensive CDL manual that provides essential information for commercial drivers, including safety guidelines, operational procedures, and licensing requirements.

Work Details

The contractor will produce 168 pages of the CDL manual, which includes a cover and is to be printed as a perfect bound booklet with a finished size of 8-1/4 x 10-3/4 inches. The cover must be made from Neenah Terra Green 65 lb. cover stock or an approved equivalent. The interior pages will be printed in full color where applicable, using white 30 lb. recycled newsprint stock. The manual will include various sections such as: - Driving safely - Transporting cargo and passengers safely - Air brakes - Combination vehicles - Doubles and triples - Tank vehicles - Hazardous materials - School buses - Pre-trip vehicle inspection tests - Basic vehicle control skills tests - On-road driving tests. Each carton must contain 60 books with a maximum weight of 55 lbs., and they should be palletized for delivery. A proof must be provided prior to production, and exact quantities are required; overruns or underruns will not be accepted. Delivery to the BMV is expected within 30 days after receipt of order (ARO).
