Background

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) to establish approximately 30 acres of hay production (Native grass/brome) on 8 separate parcels located at Shawnee State Fishing Lake. The goal of this contract is to enhance the natural resources and provide sustainable agricultural practices within the state parks.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for establishing hay production on approximately 30 acres, which includes the following tasks: - Preparation of the land for planting, including soil testing and amendments as necessary. - Planting native grass and brome seed as specified in the contract. - Maintenance of the planted areas, including irrigation, weed control, and pest management. - Harvesting the hay once it reaches maturity, ensuring that all operations comply with environmental regulations. - Reporting on progress and any issues encountered during the contract period.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and continue through December 31, 2026, with an option to renew for two additional 60-month periods.

Bidder Requirements
