Background

The City of Lincoln is seeking bids for the purchase of Traffic Control and Custom Signs to enhance traffic safety and guidance. This solicitation is aimed at authorized dealers who can provide signs that meet specific federal and state standards.

Work Details

The contract involves providing Traffic Control and Custom Signs that conform to the latest version of the Federal Highway Administration’s Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the State of Nebraska Supplement. The signs must be made from aluminum plate with sheeting and sign face applied, using materials such as High Intensity Prismatic Series 3930, Diamond Grade Cubed Series 4000, or Advanced Engineer Grade Prismatic Series 7930 from 3M Company. The vendor is responsible for ensuring all layouts are approved by City of Lincoln Traffic Engineering staff before fabrication. Signs must be inspected upon delivery, and any defects must be corrected by the vendor within two business days of notification. The contract allows for custom or specialty signs priced using specific line items, with completed signs hole-punched for mounting.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and will continue until all required signs are delivered and accepted by the City of Lincoln.

Place of Performance

All deliveries will be made to the City of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities, Traffic Engineering Division located at 901 W. Bond Street, Garage Door Y, Lincoln, NE 68521.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be authorized dealers and are required to submit bids electronically via e-bid. They must provide affidavits from manufacturers confirming that materials supplied conform to specifications. Additionally, bidders must comply with the Buy America Certification requirements and may need to demonstrate compliance with the Foreign Adversary Contracting Prohibition Act.
