Background The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is issuing this Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) for the SSC Tornado Resiliency - Generator Replacement for Test Complex. The goal of this contract is to ensure reliable emergency power restoration to the test complex during future outages by replacing outdated and unreliable generators that have been in service for 56 years. Work Details The contractor shall provide all required labor, material, tools, and equipment to design and implement the scope of work identified within the Statement of Work (SOW). The project involves major restoration and replacement of SSC’s Test Complex generators located at B-4400. Specific tasks include: - Replacing four existing 1.5MW, 4160V generators with new 480V generators capable of delivering a maximum of 3.5MW; - Performing a load study to verify generator sizing; - Providing necessary equipment including breakers, transformers, switchgear, relays; - Connecting new generators to existing diesel storage tanks; - Ensuring synchronization capability with the utility power grid; - Replacing existing switches and fuses as specified. Period of Performance The estimated time of completion for this work is 30 months. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at Stennis Space Center (SSC), specifically at Test Complex B-4400.
