180th Street Retaining Wall Fence Replacement

Background

Sarpy County, Nebraska is seeking proposals for the 180th Street Retaining Wall Fence Replacement, Project C-77 (18-01 & 25-09) for the Public Works Department. The goal of this contract is to replace the existing fencing atop a modular retaining wall along 180th Street, ensuring compliance with the specifications set by the City of Omaha.

Work Details

The project involves the complete removal and replacement of approximately 1,940 linear feet of fencing located atop a modular retaining wall. The contractor will be responsible for mobilization, removal of the existing fence, construction of a new 6-foot ornamental fence (Type 1), installation of temporary fencing, and equipment rental as necessary. All materials and work must conform to the City of Omaha Specifications 2024 and any revisions or amendments thereto. The contractor must also schedule a preconstruction meeting at least 48 hours prior to beginning construction.

Period of Performance

The contract period of performance is thirty (30) calendar days from an agreed start date, with substantial completion required no later than August 7, 2026.

The work will be performed along 180th Street in Sarpy County, Nebraska.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must include a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid price. The successful vendor must furnish a performance and payment bond in an amount equal to 100% of the total bid. Contractors must comply with residency verification requirements and use a federal immigration verification system to determine work eligibility status. Additionally, contractors are required to provide proof of insurance covering workers' compensation, general liability, and automobile liability.
