Background

The State of Delaware, through its Department of Health and Social Services, is seeking to contract for WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Services. The goal of this contract is to provide professional services that support breastfeeding among participants in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, thereby promoting better health outcomes for mothers and infants.

Work Details

The Vendor will provide the following services: 1. Recruitment and training of peer counselors who will provide breastfeeding support to WIC participants. 2. Development of educational materials tailored to the needs of WIC participants regarding breastfeeding. 3. One-on-one counseling sessions for mothers to address breastfeeding challenges and promote best practices. 4. Group education sessions that foster community support for breastfeeding among WIC participants. 5. Data collection and reporting on the effectiveness of the peer counseling program in improving breastfeeding rates among WIC participants.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on START DATE and will continue until END DATE, with options for renewal based on performance and funding availability.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed throughout the State of Delaware, specifically targeting areas with high concentrations of WIC participants.

Vendors must possess a valid Delaware business license as per 30 Del. C. § 2101. Additionally, vendors must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws related to health services and confidentiality under HIPAA.
