Scope of Work

The Clifton Street Boat Launch project requires the following work to be completed: - Repair and construction of a non-motorized boat launch at the end of Clifton Street, where it meets the Quinnipiac River. - Construction of a 39-foot timber pier supported by timber piles. - Building a concrete abutment. - Procurement and installation of an ADA-compliant aluminum gangway and floating boat launch. - Repair of the landside platform, including installation of a low-profile, pre-cast concrete block retaining wall and associated flatwork. This project aims to restore a significant public amenity at a rare public access point on the Quinnipiac River. It will enhance resiliency and provide ADA-compliant features, improving accessibility and durability.

Background

The original boat launch was first installed in the late 1990s. Over time, it has sustained damage due to rising sea levels and storm surges. The current project builds upon the initial concept, incorporating new resiliency measures and ADA amenities to better serve the community and withstand environmental challenges.

Contract Requirements

All work must comply with ADA standards and be designed to improve both accessibility and resilience of the facility. The contractor is responsible for all aspects of construction, procurement, and installation as outlined above.
