Summary (Newest Update)

Background The solicitation is issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), specifically Region 5, which focuses on environmental protection and regulatory compliance. The goal of this contract is to procure a Purge and Trap System that will be used for analyzing environmental samples for volatile organic compounds in accordance with EPA reference method SW-8260. Work Details The contract includes the following key requirements for the Purge and Trap System: 1. Provide a Purge and Trap autosampler with dilutor for automated sample introduction into an Agilent Gas Chromatograph (GC)/Mass Spectrometer (MS) system. 2. The autosampler must have onboard software, accept both aqueous and solid samples, hold up to 100 x 40 mL VOA vials, and provide automatic dilutions up to 1:400. It should feature precise positioning, sensors, separate water and soil needles, and programmable soil-depth to prevent cross-contamination. 3. The purging device must accommodate sample sizes from 5 mL to 25 mL with a water column of at least 3 cm deep, allowing purge gas to pass through as finely divided bubbles introduced no more than 5 mm from the base of the water column. 4. The trap concentrator must include patented desorption technology, advanced moisture control, improved ventilation, and compatibility with VOCARB3000 traps and dedicated moisture-reduction traps to enhance chromatography performance and reliability of sample analysis. Period of Performance The effective date of the solicitation is May 16, 2026. Place of Performance The products will be delivered to the Region 5 Laboratory located at 536 South Clark St, Chicago IL 60605-1582.
