Background
Chatham County is soliciting competitive bids from qualified companies to provide fire alarm system inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs at the Chatham County Sheriff Complex. The mission of this contract is to ensure the safety and functionality of fire alarm systems within the facility, adhering to all relevant codes and standards.
Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive services including: 1. One (1) major/annual service involving full inspection, testing, and maintenance per manufacturers’ recommendations and NFPA regulations. This includes replacement of expendable and wearable components, proper certification tag procedures, and filing necessary documents with relevant agencies. 2. All inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs must conform to manufacturers' specifications. 3. The contractor must maintain detailed records of all equipment checklists, inspections, testing results, maintenance performed, and repairs made. These records must be submitted to Facility Engineering staff for county records. 4. Emergency service requests must be responded to within twelve (12) hours with repairs commencing within twelve (12) hours from the initial service request. 5. The contractor shall provide all necessary equipment for performing the requested services at no additional cost to Chatham County.
Period of Performance
The contract will be awarded as an annual contract with renewal options for four (4) additional one (1) year terms if all parties agree.
Place of Performance
All work will be performed at the Chatham County Sheriff Complex located at 1050 Carl Griffin Drive, Savannah, GA 31405.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide references from owners of at least three (3) projects with similar scope of work. They are required to maintain minimum insurance limits as specified in ITB Section II.2.15.2 throughout the duration of the contract and must hold a current Occupational Tax Certificate from any municipality or county within Georgia.
