Background

The City of Jackson is inviting qualified contractors to submit proposals for plumbing services required for the replacement of approximately 34 feet of three, four, and six-inch domestic water piping and associated valves, fittings, supports, and other appurtenances within the Water Treatment Plant building located at 740 E. Mansion Street in the City of Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan. This project aims to ensure the integrity and functionality of the water treatment infrastructure.

Work Details

The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials to replace the domestic water piping, valves, wall-mounted supports, and associated appurtenances as specified in Attachments A and B. All materials must meet the Michigan Plumbing Code requirements. Key specifications include: - All pipe and fittings must be ductile iron. - Valves must be solid wedge rising stem gate valves with ductile iron or cast-iron casing coated with fusion-bonded epoxy. - Wall-mounted supports must be stainless steel with appropriate fasteners. - The installation must ensure that all existing supports are replaced and that any work requiring the piping system to be out of service is completed within eight hours. Specific items to be replaced include various fittings (e.g., check valves, connections to existing pipes) as detailed in the provided schedule.

The contract will commence upon award and is expected to conclude by August 28, 2026, or upon project completion, whichever comes first.
