Background

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through its Executive Office of Public Safety & Security and the Department of Correction, is issuing a contract for the renovation of the Milford Headquarters elevator. The project aims to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the elevator system within the facility, which is critical for operational efficiency and safety.

Work Details

The scope of work includes renovating building elevator (185-P-38) to include new interior finishes, door operator, and clutch. The project is categorized under C. 149 Bid Package with an estimated value of $80,000.00. The contractor will be responsible for all labor and materials necessary to complete the renovation as specified in the contract documents.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to be completed within 60 days from the notice to proceed.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a Prime/General Contractor Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) for the category of work required. Additionally, all employees must have completed a course in construction safety and health approved by OSHA with a minimum duration of 10 hours. The contract has a combined Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) participation goal of 13%, with specific workforce utilization percentages set at 15.3% for minorities and 6.9% for women.
