Background

The Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works is issuing this Request for Price Quotation (RPQ) to enhance pedestrian and bicycle safety and accessibility for students traveling to and from Miami Central High School. The project aligns with Safe Routes to School initiatives aimed at improving roadway safety conditions in school zones.

Work Details

The contract includes the installation, construction, modification, and upgrade of pedestrian and roadway safety infrastructure. Specific tasks include: - Installation of traffic control devices - Installation of pedestrian safety features - Improvements such as school speed zone signage, flashing beacon assemblies, school crosswalk signage, pavement markings, sidewalks, curb and gutter, ADA-compliant pedestrian curb ramps, pedestrian signal indications with push-button detection at existing intersections, electrical service and control assemblies. All work must adhere to the construction plans, technical specifications, and applicable standards outlined in the Contract Documents.

Period of Performance

The anticipated start date for the project is July 20, 2026, with a total duration of 365 calendar days for project completion.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Miami Central High School located at 1781 NW 95th St, Miami, FL 33147.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must hold a valid Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Contractor or General Engineering Contractor. They must also demonstrate experience through three similar projects completed within the last five years. Insurance requirements include: - Worker’s Compensation Insurance - Commercial General Liability Insurance ($1 million each occurrence) - Automobile Liability Insurance ($1 million combined single limit) - Umbrella liability ($3 million each occurrence) - Contractor’s pollution liability ($1 million each occurrence). Performance & Payment Bond and Bid Bond are required.
