City of Reno Dewatering Building Electrical Equipment and Construction Project

San Francisco has recently awarded a grant through Congressionally Mandated Projects that may result in future contract opportunities or awards to complete City of Reno has received a grant to implement a wastewater infrastructure construction project at the Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility. The work includes providing the necessary electrical equipment to support the construction of a new, seismically resilient dewatering building that offers operational redundancy. The project involves constructing a new dewatering building, installing a third centrifuge, and upgrading the plant's electrical system to meet the power demands of the new facility. These improvements are critical to ensuring the reliability of the dewatering process, a key step in wastewater treatment that separates solid waste from liquid waste. The project will benefit residents and businesses in Reno, Sparks, Sun Valley, and parts of unincorporated Washoe County, Nevada, as well as downstream populations including the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. This project is authorized by the 2022 Consolidated Appropriations Act and is fully federally funded in the amount of $3,000,000.
