Active Transportation Improvements in Provo Signage and Striping Project

Background

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the Active Transportation Improvements project in Provo. The goal of this contract is to engage a contractor to provide construction services specifically related to signage and striping improvements aimed at enhancing active transportation in the area. The project must be completed before May 21, 2026.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for various construction tasks as outlined in the bid schedule, including: mobilization, public information services, traffic control, removal of pavement marking paint, installation of pavement messages using preformed thermoplastic, application of pavement marking paint, installation and removal of bicycle access ramps, and installation of various types of signs and sign posts. Specific quantities include: - 300 feet of pavement marking paint removal - 38 pavement messages - 2 gallons of pavement marking paint - 1 bicycle access ramp - 49 signs measuring 30 x 36 inches All work must adhere to UDOT's standards and specifications.

Period of Performance

The project is expected to commence after the mandatory pre-bid meeting on March 26, 2026, with substantial completion required by August 14, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will take place in Provo, Utah, specifically requiring night work from Monday through Thursday between the hours of 10 PM to 6 AM.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. They are required to obtain necessary permits for night work from Provo City and submit a signed MS4 compliance plan prior to commencing work. Additionally, bidders must demonstrate compliance with UDOT's standards for traffic control and maintain an open lane of traffic during construction.
