Sunfield, Campo del Sol Parkway - Remove and Replace Hot Mix

Background

Hays County issues this Invitation for Bid (IFB) to solicit bids for the removal of existing 6-inch pavement and replacement with 4 inches of Type B Hot Mix and a 2-inch Type D Hot Mix Overlay on Campo del Sol Parkway, located in the Sunfield Subdivision. The goal of this contract is to improve the roadway infrastructure in Hays County.

Work Details

The contractor will perform the following tasks: 1. Remove existing pavement by milling to a depth of 6 inches. 2. Replace with 4 inches of TXDOT Special Specification 3076 Type B Hot Mix over an area of approximately 5,410 square yards. 3. Apply a TRAIL tack coat before paving with Type D mix as specified in TXDOT Special Specification 3077. 4. Conduct post-paving cleanup and ensure safety through proper traffic control measures including signage and flagger operations. 5. Notify residents one week prior to paving operations with message boards and flyers detailing the work schedule.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to be awarded in July 2026, with all work to be completed by September 25, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed on Campo del Sol Parkway in the Sunfield Subdivision, Hays County, Texas.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a bid bond of 5% of the total bid amount at submission, along with performance and payment bonds equal to the contract price within ten days of award. Bidders must also demonstrate responsibility by having adequate financial resources, a satisfactory performance record, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
