Construction of Farmers Market Building at 202 S 2nd Street, Baldwyn, MS

Background

The City of Baldwyn is seeking sealed bids for the construction of a Farmers Market Building located in the backyard of 202 S. 2nd Street, Baldwyn, MS 38824, also known as the Baldwyn Municipal Court Building. This project aims to enhance local commerce and provide a dedicated space for farmers and vendors to sell their products.

Work Details

The contract includes the following specific requirements for the construction of the Farmers Market Building: 1. Acquire a pre-engineered building measuring 50’x80’x14’, with a 3” on 12” pitch, featuring colored walls and a Galvume roof. 2. The front wall must have brick veneer up to 4 feet high (bricks furnished by the city). 3. The building should include 3” VR metal building insulation. 4. Installation of two (2) 3070 main doors. 5. Installation of five (5) insulated roll-up doors measuring 12’x10’. 6. The interior must have 7’4” liner panels throughout. 7. Two (2) handicap accessible restrooms are required. 8. A one (1) office area measuring 15’x20’, wired for electrical needs, is to be included. 9. The building must be wired for heating and air conditioning for both the open area and office/restrooms. 10. A concrete slab of at least 4” thickness with a minimum compressive strength of 3500 PSI, including footings with continuous double run-off using 1/2” rebar, is required. 11. A plastic vapor barrier of at least 6 mil thickness must be installed. 12. A wire mesh reinforcement of size 6”x6” throughout the slab is necessary. 13. The construction bid amount must include labor and dirt work costs. 14. Rough plumbing is to be included in the bid.

Period of Performance

The bids must be received by May 20th, 2026, at which point they will be opened on June 11th, 2026.

The construction will take place at the site located at 202 S. 2nd Street, Baldwyn, MS.

Bidder Requirements

All bidders must be state licensed contractors.
