The City of Pasadena Department of Public Works, Building Systems and Fleet Management Division (BSFMD) is seeking a qualified vendor to provide heavy-duty radiator, oil cooler, and transmission cooler repair services, diagnostics, testing, cleaning, fabrication, and OEM parts for City-owned heavy-duty vehicles and equipment on an as-needed basis for Fiscal Year 2027. The City operates a fleet of approximately 1,100 vehicles utilized by various departments including Resource Recovery and Recycling, Public Works, and Water & Power. Equipment serviced may include refuse trucks, boom trucks, street sweepers, sewer trucks, and water trucks that operate in demanding environments requiring reliable cooling system performance.
The contractor will provide the following services: - Radiator inspections and diagnostics - Radiator leak detection and repairs - Radiator re-coring services - Radiator replacement services - Cooling system pressure testing - Pressure testing of repaired radiators prior to return to service - Test, repair, and retest services for radiators and cooling system components - Inspection and repair of oil coolers - Inspection and repair of transmission coolers - Pressure testing to verify proper sealing and system integrity - Cooling system flushing and cleaning - Heavy-duty radiator cleaning services - Charge air cooler (CAC) inspections and repairs - Cooling fan inspections and repairs - Water pump replacement - Thermostat replacement - Hose and clamp replacement - Surge tank and reservoir repairs - Welding and fabrication repairs related to cooling systems - OEM radiator-related parts supply - Emergency radiator and cooling system repairs. All parts supplied must be new unless otherwise approved by the City.
The contract is scheduled to start on July 1, 2026, and end on June 30, 2027.
Services will be performed at the City Yards located at 323 W. Mountain Street Pasadena, CA 91103.
Bidders must have a minimum of three years of experience performing heavy-duty radiator and cooling system repairs. They should have experience servicing municipal or commercial heavy-duty fleet vehicles. Bidders must possess the equipment necessary to pressure test, diagnose, repair, and retest cooling system components. Additionally, they should have trained personnel experienced in heavy-duty cooling system diagnostics and repairs.
