The goal of this contract is to ensure that all fire hydrants are properly maintained and functional in accordance with safety standards.

Work Details

The services required under this contract include: 1. Hydrant Flow Testing and Marking: Vendors must be familiar with NFPA 291 and perform flow tests according to its guidelines. Hydrants must be marked as per specified chapters of NFPA 291. 2. Hydrant Inspection and Maintenance: This includes checking the tightness of outlet caps, ensuring no leaks, inspecting for cracks, clearing drains, checking turning nuts and nozzle threads for damage, ensuring accessibility, and confirming no corrosion affects integrity. Maintenance tasks include lubrication of the bonnet with food-grade oil, ensuring all components are operational, applying food-grade anti-seize on ports, and clearing vegetation within a three-foot radius of each hydrant. A detailed electronic report documenting the work completed must be provided by the vendor.

Period of Performance

The contract term is for one year with the possibility of extension for up to three additional years based on mutual agreement.

The services will be performed throughout Eddy County, New Mexico.
