Fiscal Year 2027 - Joint/Crack Sealing

Background

The Boone County Public Works Department is seeking bids from qualified vendors and contractors to provide services related to Joint/Crack Sealing for Fiscal Year 2027. The contract period will commence on July 1, 2026, and conclude on June 30, 2027. The goal of this contract is to maintain and enhance the integrity of road surfaces through effective sealing of joints and cracks.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: - Routing cracks to a depth of one-half inch (1/2") and a minimum width of three-eighths inch (3/8"). - Removing any ineffective existing joint sealing material. - Providing and installing backer rods where necessary. - Using silica sand for larger cracks. - Cleaning joints/cracks of debris using approved methods. - Filling all cracks, construction or expansion joints, joints between driveway/sidewalk aprons that abut the street or curb, and edge joints between concrete curbs and asphalt paving with joint sealer compound. All materials used must conform to the current Boone County Subdivision Regulations and specifications outlined in Appendix “A”, Item 12.0 Joint Sealer.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed within Boone County, Kentucky.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide verification of insurance coverage as specified by the County. They are required to maintain insurance during the contract period and provide documentation satisfactory to the County. Bidders must also comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding safety and environmental regulations. If claiming Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) status, certification must be attached with bid submission.
