Background

The City of Columbus, Department of Public Utilities, Division of Water is seeking formal bids to establish a contract for the purchase of one Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV). The goal is to enhance operational capabilities within the department by acquiring reliable and efficient equipment that meets specified safety and performance standards.

Work Details

The contract involves the purchase and delivery of one (1) Utility Terrain Vehicle, specifically a John Deere XUV845M model. The UTV must meet or exceed the following specifications: - Engine: 4 Cycle EFI gas engine with a minimum of 53 hp, liquid cooled cooling system. - Transmission/Axle: Four-wheel drive with dash-mounted actuation switch, CVT with clutch enclosure, limited slip front differential, and positive locking switch actuated rear differential lock.

Battery System

12v dc electrical system with a minimum of one (1) 480CCA battery and an alternator no less than 85 amps. - Steering/Suspension: Power steering, fully independent dual A-arm front and rear suspension with adjustable coils, hydraulic disc brakes on all four wheels. - Body: Full cab enclosure with driver and passenger doors, roof, flip-out windshield, cargo box measuring at least 54” x 43” x 13”, HD brush guard on front, under seat storage, and HD 2-inch rear receiver hitch. - Lighting: LED headlights and turn signals, two LED rearward facing work lights mounted to cab roof. - Paint: Black body with olive secondary color. - Measurements: Maximum wheelbase of 87”, maximum width of 71”, minimum payload capacity of 1030 lbs, towing capacity of at least 4000 lbs, operable at speeds up to 17 mph.

Period of Performance

The contract is for a one-time purchase with delivery expected within a specified lead time after receipt of order.

Delivery will be made to Ryan Conley at 910 Dublin RD, Columbus, OH 43215.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must document their manufacturer certified reseller partnership and demonstrate experience in providing similar equipment along with warranty service over the past five years. They are required to provide references from at least four customers who have similar contracts. Additionally, bidders must maintain liability insurance coverage as specified (minimum $1 million per person/accident for bodily injury and property damage), provide workers' compensation insurance for employees, and comply with all applicable safety guidelines.
