District Maintenance Vacuum Trailers

Background

The City of Columbus, Division/Department of Public Utilities is seeking formal bids to establish a contract for the purchase of two (2) Vacuum Trailers. The goal of this contract is to enhance the capabilities of the Water Distribution Maintenance section, ensuring efficient operations in public utilities management.

Work Details

The contract will provide for the purchase and delivery of two (2) Gas Powered Vacuum Excavation Trailers. Each trailer must meet or exceed the following specifications: - **Engine**: Air Cooled, 27 HP Kohler gas engine with tachometer, dry type air cleaner, and 12v battery system. - **Vacuum Pump**: Minimum 500 CFM Positive Displacement Vacuum Pump with a minimum vacuum capacity of 11 in-hg. - **High Pressure Water System**: Minimum 2.5 GPM 3000 psi water pump, engine driven, with various accessories including a clean water tank and pressure gauge. - **Debris Tank**: Minimum 250-gallon capacity with hydraulic dumping capabilities and multiple valves for operation. - **Hydraulic System**: Engine mounted direct drive pump rated for a minimum of 8gpm at 1,800psi continuous duty. - **Control Panel**: Weather-tight enclosure with full instrument control panel located curb side. - **Trailer Specifications**: Single axle rated for fully loaded hydro-vac system with heavy-duty tires and safety features including LED lights and brake away safety kit.

Period of Performance

The contract is for a one-time purchase with delivery timelines specified by the bidder upon receipt of order.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must document their experience in providing vacuum trailers and warranty service over the past five years, including references from at least four similar contracts. They are required to show proof of manufacturer certified reseller partnership and must hold valid contract compliance certification from the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
