NOAA requires Extend East gate security hours from 0600-1800 Monday-Friday to 24 hours per day while NOAA vessels are in port. The Roger F. Wicker center lies within Mississippi State Port Authority's Port of Gulfport. The Port of Gulfport has three gates, West (main), East and North. NOAA berthing is closest the East gate. All gates are operated by security guards from Swetman Security. Swetman Security is the sole provider of gate and rover security services to the Port of Gulfport. Other security companies and guards are not permitted to man the entrance gates.
