The laboratory conducts critical testing and evaluation of emission control technologies, making fire protection essential for safeguarding personnel and equipment involved in these operations. Work Details The contractor will provide services including modification or installation of gaseous, total flooding, chemical, expansion foam, and liquid mist-based fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems. Specific tasks include: 1. System Design: Design, engineering, installation, commissioning, and documentation of new fire detection, alarming, and suppression systems. 2. System Modifications: Redesigning or repositioning existing systems as needed. 3. System Charge Readiness: Refilling or repairing discharged tanks or faulty components within 24 hours of notification. 4. System Documentation: Producing electronic and hard copy representations of modified or newly installed systems. 5. System Signage: Installing directional, identification, warning signage related to the fire protection systems. 6. Education: Training end-user personnel on the specifics of installed systems. Place of Performance All work will be conducted at the EPA National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory located at 2565 Plymouth Road and 2000 Traverwood in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
