Background

The City of Pasadena Public Works Department, Building Systems & Fleet Management Division (BSFMD) is seeking a qualified vendor to provide off-site lock & key service. The City maintains assets within its municipal fleet that require these services to remain operational. This informal solicitation aims to establish a vendor for ongoing service needs throughout Fiscal Year 2027, focusing on timely service and reliable parts availability to minimize vehicle downtime and maintain operational readiness.

Work Details

The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, and materials necessary to perform off-site lock and key service. Specific tasks include: - Supplying required parts, materials, and service; - Maintaining records of key codes, key requests, and lock changes; - Ensuring confidentiality and security of all keying information; - Cutting and duplicating standard keys; - Delivering keys and transponder programming; - Chip key activation; and - Remote programming. The contractor must have at least three years of experience providing off-site lock & key services and comply with applicable safety requirements. Additionally, background checks for technicians are required along with secure storage of key codes.

Period of Performance

The contract is scheduled to start on July 1, 2026, and end on June 30, 2027.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at the City of Pasadena – City Yards located at 323 W. Mountain Street, Pasadena, CA 91103.
