Background

The Sanford Airport Authority is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide a comprehensive insurance program to support its operations as a public-use commercial service airport. The Authority's mission is to operate, maintain, improve, and expand the Orlando Sanford International Airport for the benefit of the air traveling public and the economic development of Central Florida. The contract aims to cover various risks typical in an airport environment.

Work Details

The selected firm(s) will provide coverage for: 1. Property (including equipment and boiler & machinery) 2. Crime 3. Public officials errors and omissions liability (including employment practices liability) 4. Law enforcement liability 5. Automobile liability and physical damage 6. Cyber liability 7. Workers’ compensation and employers’ liability. Services include underwriting, policy issuance, risk assessment, claims support services, evaluation of risk exposures, provision of coverage limits and options, identification of optional coverages, claims handling support services, policy documentation including specimen policies with endorsements, and ongoing account management.

Period of Performance

The insurance coverage is expected to be effective from October 1, 2026.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at the Orlando Sanford International Airport located at 1200 Red Cleveland Blvd., Sanford, FL 32773.

Bidder Requirements

Respondents must have an A.M. Best rating of B+ or higher or have been operating in Florida for at least five consecutive years with an unqualified financial statement submitted with their proposal. Additional qualifications are outlined in the Respondent Questionnaire section.
