DNR RFB St Louis Co Greywacke Bedrock Obwell Drill

Background

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking bids for the installation and completion of groundwater environmental wells in Southern St. Louis County. The goal of this contract is to legally and correctly install up to two total groundwater observation wells using specified drilling methods.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, licensing, permits, and any other necessary components to complete the project. The work includes: 1. Mobilization/demobilization for two well sites. 2. Drilling and surface sampling of a 6-inch borehole for 6-inch diameter well casing using air-driven methods (250 feet for Well 1 and 65 feet for Well 2). 3. Drilling and surface sampling of a 6-inch open borehole casing using air rotary/hammer methods (100 feet for Well 1 and 160 feet for Well 2). 4. Furnishing and installing 6-inch diameter steel well casing (253 feet for Well 1 and 68 feet for Well 2). 5. Furnishing and installing a locking cap (1 each for both wells). 6. Furnishing and installing protection posts (3 each for both wells). 7. Developing the well (2 hours for both wells). 8. Additional items include standby time as ordered by DNR and sealing boreholes if geology is not favorable.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must be registered and licensed with the Minnesota Department of Health as a Well Contractor in accordance with the Water Well Construction Code as specified in Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 103I. Proof of licensure must be uploaded with the bid response.
