Background

Murfreesboro City Schools (MCS) is seeking bids for heavy-duty school bus tires and related services to support its Transportation Department. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the MCS transportation fleet through the provision of high-quality tires, maintenance, and repair services.

Work Details

The successful bidder will provide the following services: 1. Heavy-duty school bus tires including 11R22.5 and other sizes as required; 2. Wheel alignments for heavy-duty buses; 3. Roadside assistance during operational hours; 4. Tire repair services adhering to Rubber Manufacturers Association guidelines; 5. Mounting and balancing services; 6. Preventive maintenance support including routine inspections and tire condition reports; 7. Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding safety and environmental standards.

Period of Performance

The contract will be effective for one year from the date of award, with an option for four additional one-year terms, contingent upon approval by the Board of Education.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at MCS facilities or through mobile service vehicles within Rutherford County and surrounding areas.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have a minimum of three years of experience servicing heavy-duty vehicle fleets, employ ASE-certified technicians, provide emergency roadside service within specified response times, comply with OSHA and FMCSA regulations, and submit references from similar contracts. Bidders must also certify compliance with non-collusion, Iran Divestment Act, non-boycott of Israel, nondiscrimination laws, ADA compliance, and debarment/suspension certifications.
