The Board plays a crucial role in administering these sensitive activities, receiving approximately 3,800 decedent bodies annually from various sources including hospitals and families. The goal of this contract is to ensure a 24-hour communication network that can efficiently handle time-sensitive calls related to death notifications and transport services.

Work Details

The contractor will provide professional telephone answering services that include: 1. Efficiently responding to telephonic reports of deaths of pre-registered donors and unclaimed decedent bodies, notifying designated mortuary transport services for timely removal. 2. Immediate response to emergency communications and timely replies regarding program activities when the Board's office is closed. 3. Coverage from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, and 24 hours on weekends and holidays. 4. Collecting detailed information from callers reporting deaths, including decedent's name, address, date of birth, time of death, status (Donor or Unclaimed), cause of death, known infectious conditions, location details, next of kin information, and any obstacles for transport access. 5. Transmitting recorded death information via fax and email to the Board by 8:05 a.m. the following day.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on July 1st, 2026, and will continue until June 30th, 2029.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed in Maryland across five designated areas: Baltimore Metro, Southern Maryland, Western Maryland, Lower Eastern Shore, and Upper Eastern Shore.

Bidder Requirements
