Partial Renovation, Education Center

Background

This Invitation to Bid is issued by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia for the Partial Renovation of the Education Center at Valdosta State University. The goal of this contract is to enhance the facilities at the university, ensuring they meet current standards and serve the educational mission effectively.

Work Details

The contract involves a lump sum basis for construction work, which includes but is not limited to: renovations to various classrooms, installation of new finishes, HVAC system updates, and modifications to existing structures. Specific alternates include omitting card access control on exterior doors, finishes in a multiuse classroom, testing and balancing for the HVAC system, millwork and fixtures in a multipurpose classroom, glass handrails, and fire alarm panel replacement. The contractor must ensure compliance with all local building codes and regulations.

Period of Performance

The work is expected to commence upon issuance of a Proceed Order and must be completed within 180 days from that date.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Valdosta State University located in Valdosta, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a Bid Bond equal to at least five percent of their bid amount. A performance bond and payment bond are required prior to contract execution, each amounting to 100 percent of the Contract Sum. Bidders must comply with Georgia's Security and Immigration Compliance Act and certify their adherence to ethical standards as outlined in O.C.G.A. Sections 45-10-20 to 45-10-71.
