Background

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is issuing a contracting opportunity for Fire Protection Systems Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance Services at the Nevada-Yuba Placer (NEU) facility located at 11425 Conservation Camp Road, Nevada City, CA. This contract aims to ensure the safety and compliance of fire protection systems in accordance with applicable regulations. Only California Certified Small Businesses are eligible to submit quotes for this contract.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, transportation, and fees necessary for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems including: 1. Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression System: Inspect and test every six months; replace faulty components; ensure compliance with California State Fire Code. 2. Commercial Hood and Duct Cleaning: Inspect and clean every six months; perform degreasing and filter cleaning. 3. Automatic Fire Sprinkler and Fire Pump Systems: Annual inspection and testing of sprinkler risers and control valves; inspect fire pump assemblies; perform adjustments and minor repairs; submit required inspection reports. 4. Fire Extinguishers: Annual inspection and servicing of 80 extinguishers; replace expired extinguishers. 5. Fire Alarm and Detection Systems: Annual inspection and testing of smoke detectors, heat detectors, alarm control panels; perform simulated emergency testing.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence on June 14, 2026 (estimate) or upon approval by CAL FIRE, whichever is later. The contract will expire on June 13, 2029 (estimate). Services shall be performed during normal working hours from Monday to Friday.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at Washington Ridge Conservation Camp #44 located at 11425 Conservation Camp Road, Nevada City, CA 95959.

Bidder Requirements

Eligible bidders must be California Certified Small Businesses. They must provide proof of valid C-16 Fire Protection License and C-10 Electrical License issued by the California Contractors State Licensing Board (CSLB). All bidders must also be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) at the time of bid submission.
