Dump Truck for the Public Works Department

Background

The Town of Strasburg is soliciting bids for the purchase and delivery of one (1) 2025-2026 GVWR 25,999, 10-foot dump truck for their Public Works Department. The goal is to acquire a vehicle that meets specific operational requirements to support the town's public works activities.

Work Details

The contract involves providing one (1) dump truck with the following specifications:

Base Truck Specifications

- GVWR: 25,999 - Transmission: Allison 2500 RDS Automatic - Engine: 6.7L Diesel Engine with a minimum of 300HP or equivalent

Fuel Tank

Minimum 50 Gallons

Electronic Trailer Brake Controller

- Rubber undercoating preferred - Color: Preferred White, other colors considered - Dual air horns and single electric horn - Dual heated mirrors and LED marker lights - Air ride driver's seat.

Dump Body Size

10’ with inside dimensions of height (29”), width (86.5”), and length (121”) - Minimum lift capacity of 20 tons with dual cylinder pneumatic gate release and electric tarp system.

Additional Requirements

The truck must be equipped for plowing with central hydraulics for both plow and hopper. It should have a standard tailgate setup with air release. Delivery must occur within sixty (60) calendar days from the issuance of the purchase order.

Period of Performance

The contract performance period is expected to be completed within sixty (60) calendar days from the date of purchase order issuance.

Place of Performance

Delivery shall be made to the Town’s Public Works facility located at 448 Borden Mowery Drive, Strasburg, VA 22657.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide detailed descriptive literature, catalog cuts, and specifications with their bid to demonstrate compliance with the solicitation requirements. The successful bidder must not be debarred from submitting bids on contracts by the Town of Strasburg.
