The City of South Fulton, Georgia, through its Fire and Rescue Department, is seeking qualified contractors to provide comprehensive medical direction for its emergency medical services (EMS) program. The goal of this contract is to ensure reliable and effective medical oversight for the EMS operations, which respond to approximately 20,000 calls per year. The selected contractor will serve as the Physician Sponsor for the department's EMS license and will be responsible for various clinical oversight activities.
The selected contractor will perform the following services: - Serve as Physician Sponsor for the department’s EMS license. - Provide documentation of services performed, including meeting attendance, protocol review activity, QA/QI participation, training support, case review activity, recommendations, and other deliverables requested by the City. - Ensure compliance with O.C.G.A § 31-11 and Georgia Department of Public Health EMS Rules and Regulations. - Approve protocols, standing orders, and medications used by EMS personnel. - Review reports, patient care records, and response data for compliance and performance. - Conduct case reviews and recommend system improvements. - Assist in setting up and evaluating a continuous quality improvement program. - Approve and assist in developing initial and continuing EMS education curricula. - Oversee clinical competencies and skills verification. - Participate in training sessions as needed and serve as a subject matter expert during training simulations and drills. - Provide additional medical advisory support to EMS-related programs as needed.
The initial term of the contract shall be twenty-four (24) months beginning on the effective date stated in the fully executed contract or Notice to Proceed. The City may renew the contract for up to two (2) additional one-year terms at its discretion.
Services will be performed within the City of South Fulton, Georgia.
Proposers must meet specific qualifications including: 1. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) licensed in Georgia. 2. Board certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine or a related specialty. 3. At least three (3) years of experience in EMS medical direction or emergency medicine. 4. Current DEA registration and ACLS certification. 5. Familiarity with Georgia EMS protocols and regulations. Proposers must also submit required forms including proof of insurance, business licenses, affidavits regarding immigration compliance, and other certifications.
