Background

The City of Columbus, Division of Water, is seeking formal bids to establish a contract for the purchase and immediate delivery of four (4) Backhoe Trailers. This equipment will be utilized by the Water Distribution Maintenance Section to support their operations.

Work Details

The contract involves the purchase and delivery of four (4) new and unused Tandem axle, Deck over, tag along backhoe trailers. The trailers must meet specific requirements including: - A minimum main deck length of 20 feet and a maximum of 22 feet. - A beaver tail length between 60 inches and 72 inches. - A payload capacity of at least 40,000 lbs. - A deck width not exceeding 102 inches. Additional specifications include: - A tongue length between 60 inches and 76 inches. - A maximum deck height of 32 inches when loaded. - Hardwood decking at least 2 inches thick. - Two ladder-style ramps with specific dimensions and features. - An I-beam rail construction for the main frame. - At least ten D-rings for securing loads. The trailers must also have adequate suspension systems with self-adjusting air brakes on at least one axle. The successful bidder must provide documentation of experience in supplying such equipment and warranty service for the past five years, including references from at least four customers with similar contracts.

Period of Performance

The contract is for a one-time purchase with delivery expected within a specified number of calendar days after receipt of order.

Place of Performance

Delivery will occur at the City of Columbus Division of Fleet Management located at 4211 Groves Road, Columbus, OH 43232.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must show proof that they are registered to do business in Ohio and provide valid contract compliance certification. They are required to submit documentation detailing their experience with similar equipment and warranty services over the past five years. Additionally, bidders must provide references from four customers who have received similar services.
