Locker and Toilet Room Renovations at the Town Campus Gym Facility

Background

The Town of Madison (ToM) is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced commercial general contractors to construct renovations/improvements to the Locker Room and Toilet Room areas of the Town Campus Gym facility, located at 4 Campus Drive, Madison, CT. The project aims to modernize the look and feel of the Women’s Toilet Room, Women’s Locker Room shower area, as well as the Men’s combined locker room/shower area. The facility will remain operational during this project, requiring contractors to utilize extra caution and mitigate noise/disturbance to adjacent areas. This project is partially funded by a grant administered by the State Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD).

Work Details

The renovations/improvements consist of flooring, wall tile, toilet partitions, plumbing fixtures and accessories, shower stall rebuilds/replumbing, painting, minor electrical work, and other associated tasks. The contractor must supply and install a construction sign as specified in 'Appendix B' DECD Construction Sign Template prior to construction start and remove it at the end of the project. All project activities must adhere to specifications dated February 21, 2025, and construction drawings dated February 28, 2025 developed by Antinozzi Associates, Inc.

Period of Performance

On-site construction must start on August 31, 2026 and be substantially complete (available for unobstructed use) by September 28, 2026. Full completion is required by October 9, 2026.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at the Town Campus Gym facility located at 4 Campus Drive, Madison, CT.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must maintain a principal place of business within 60 miles of Madison Public Schools Facilities Building at 284 Green Hill Road, Madison, CT. Contractors must be pre-qualified by the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (DAS) to bid on this contract. A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the contract value must be supplied with all bids. Payment (Labor and Materials) and Performance Bonds will be required for the full contract amount before commencement of any project work.
