Food Service Management - USDA School Meals

Background

The Savannah Classical Academy, a School Food Authority (SFA), is seeking proposals for food service management services to enhance its current food service program. The goal of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to identify a qualified Food Service Management Company (FSMC) that can provide comprehensive food service solutions for the school year 2026-2027, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while promoting nutrition and wellness among students.

Work Details

The FSMC will be responsible for providing food service management during the school year 2026-2027, which includes: 1. Operating the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), After-School Care Program (ASCP), and other related programs as specified in Exhibit A. 2. Serving meals that meet USDA meal pattern requirements and promoting maximum participation in these programs. 3. Implementing a 21-day cycle menu for NSLP, SBP, ASCP, and a la carte items, with detailed meal specifications provided in Exhibits B. 4. Maintaining proper sanitation and health standards in accordance with local and state regulations. 5. Providing additional food services such as catering for special events upon request by the SFA. 6. Ensuring accurate record-keeping for all meals served and maintaining compliance with federal guidelines regarding meal counts and reimbursements.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on July 1, 2026, and will terminate on June 30, 2027. There is an option to renew the contract for four additional one-year terms upon mutual agreement between the SFA and FSMC.

Place of Performance

All services will be performed at Savannah Classical Academy located at 705 East Anderson Street, Savannah, GA 31404.

Bidder Requirements

To be eligible to bid, offerors must be incorporated or licensed to do business in Georgia and must be on or willing to be on the list of FSMC vendors with the Georgia Department of Education's School Nutrition Division. Offerors must provide annual financial statements from a certified public accountant, demonstrate experience operating similar programs, and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
