Background

Tarleton State University, a member of The Texas A&M University System, is seeking to establish a contract for professional driver and transportation services specifically for the University's football equipment trailer. The goal is to ensure safe and timely transport of the trailer to various scheduled away games, postseason events, and other designated activities. Tarleton State University has a rich history dating back to 1899 and is committed to providing accessible higher education while fostering student success through various programs.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all necessary labor, equipment (tractor/semi power unit), and expertise for transporting the football trailer. Key responsibilities include: - Transporting the trailer to and from all away games according to the team's travel schedule. - Coordinating delivery and return timelines. - Supporting transportation needs for NCAA postseason contests. - Providing transportation for additional events such as parades or special functions as needed. The contractor must provide qualified drivers compliant with DOT regulations, maintain a reliable tractor capable of towing the trailer, ensure compliance with all DOT regulations, and have a contingency plan for mechanical failures. Additionally, they may need to accommodate University staff during transport if requested.

Period of Performance

The contract will be effective for one year with an option to renew for up to four additional years if mutually agreed upon by both parties.

Place of Performance

Services will primarily be performed in Texas, specifically involving travel to various away game locations as determined by the football team's schedule.

Bidder Requirements

Respondents must submit a HUB subcontracting plan (HSP) if their proposal exceeds $100,000. They are required to demonstrate good faith efforts in utilizing Texas certified HUBs for subcontracting opportunities. Additionally, vendors must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
