Background The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is issuing this solicitation for the Agassiz National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) located in Middle River, Minnesota. The primary goal of this contract is to perform hazardous fuels reduction through the mechanical clearing of levee brush and tree removals. This initiative aims to enhance firebreaks within the refuge, ensuring better management of vegetation and fire risks. Work Details The contract involves the mechanical clearing of woody vegetation on levees within the Agassiz NWR. Specific tasks include mowing, mulching, and cut/stump treatments across a total area of under six miles, divided into two separate locations as specified in the Statement of Work. Contractors are required to visit the site prior to submitting bids to assess conditions and include any mobilization or related fees in their quotes. The work must be conducted with minimal disturbance to soil or sod and must adhere to guidelines for preventing the spread of noxious and invasive species. Additionally, contractors must submit a complete herbicide application record upon completion of work.
