Background The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this solicitation for the restoration of the parking lot at the Maintenance Facility located within the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park in Paterson, NJ. The goal of this contract is to provide necessary repairs and improvements to ensure the functionality and safety of the parking area, which has deteriorated over time. This project is a total small business set aside. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, mobilization, transportation, supervision, incidentals, and waste disposal required to perform asphalt paving services. The specific tasks include: - Removing existing asphalt; - Fine grading and compacting the existing stone base; - Adding new stone base material if required; - Installing an underdrain; - Pouring a concrete band along the existing retaining wall to support a guardrail; - Pouring two strips of concrete to support a chain link fence and sliding gate; - Pouring a concrete slab for a dumpster; - Repaving with new asphalt; and - Striping the new parking lot. The project aims to address drainage issues and improve overall site conditions. Period of Performance The contract performance shall commence within five (5) calendar days after receiving the Notice to Proceed and is expected to be completed within one hundred twenty (120) calendar days thereafter.
