The primary objective of landscaping and grounds maintenance at National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) is to preserve and maintain its campus open space areas to minimize the negative impacts on the environment and maximize the efficient use of resources to enhance the native and naturalized vegetation communities and wildlife habitat. The Subcontractor shall assist NLR's Site Operations Team to provide various landscaping and irrigation services in the cultivation of both established and improvement project landscape areas. Landscaping and grounds maintenance activities shall be performed using environmentally responsible and sustainable practices, including water-efficient irrigation methods, integrated pest management, soil health preservation, and the use of native or climate-adapted plant species where feasible. Background The National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) is seeking subcontractors to provide landscaping and grounds maintenance services aimed at preserving and maintaining its campus open space areas. The goal of this contract is to minimize environmental impacts while enhancing native vegetation and wildlife habitats. The landscaping services are essential for ensuring safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of NLR’s grounds, supporting wildfire risk reduction, promoting healthy vegetation, and managing stormwater effectively. Work Details The subcontractor will assist NLR’s Site Operations Team by providing various landscaping and irrigation services. Tasks include: 1) Landscape maintenance including pruning, debris removal, and irrigation management; 2) Implementation of environmentally responsible practices such as water-efficient irrigation methods and integrated pest management; 3) Use of native or climate-adapted plant species where feasible; 4) Management of smart irrigation systems and specialized equipment; 5) Compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; 6) Direct performance of all work by the Offeror’s personnel without delegation to lower-tier subcontractors unless authorized. Period of Performance The contract will have a basic period lasting twelve months from execution, with four optional periods each extending an additional twelve months upon completion of the previous period. Place of Performance The work will be performed at the National Laboratory of the Rockies South Table Mountain Campus.
