Background

The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is the largest school district in North Carolina and the 15th largest in the United States, serving approximately 162,000 students across 203 schools. The district aims to enhance its Child Nutrition Service Program and Full-Service Vending Program by seeking competitive proposals for beverage vending and pouring services. The awarded vendor will be placed on a master services contract for use by schools, booster clubs, and parent/student organizations.

Work Details

The contractor will provide beverage vending and pouring services including: - Supply of various beverages such as carbonated drinks, bottled water, sports drinks, fruit juices, and iced tea products. - Delivery of products to specified WCPSS locations with adequate inventory levels maintained. - Provision of vending machines equipped with industry-standard technology including cashless payment systems. - Maintenance and servicing of all vending equipment in a timely manner. - Implementation of a recycling program for beverage containers. - Compliance with Smart Snacks nutritional standards for beverages sold in schools. A detailed proposal must include vend and pour prices for all beverages, commissions to be paid to WCPSS based on gross sales, and adherence to federal nutritional regulations.

Period of Performance

The contract term is for twelve (12) months starting from July 1, 2026, with options to renew for up to four (4) additional one-year periods.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations within the Wake County Public School System in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be licensed to operate in North Carolina and have at least five years of relevant experience. They must also provide proof of liability insurance and comply with federal and state child nutrition laws. Vendors listed on the debarred vendor registry will be disqualified from consideration.
