The Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority (RWSA) and the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority (RSWA) are seeking proposals for professional dam engineering consulting services. RWSA is a regional non-profit corporation responsible for water and wastewater treatment facilities, while RSWA manages solid waste and recycling services. The goal of this contract is to ensure the operation and maintenance of dams owned or operated by these authorities, as well as to support capital improvement projects.

Work Details

Offerors must provide a range of engineering and professional services including: general civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, land surveying, hydrologic and hydraulic engineering, environmental engineering, cost estimation, and other specialties as needed. Specific tasks include evaluations and needs assessments, alternatives analyses, surveys, designs, permitting, preparation of documents (including AutoCAD drawings), field inspections, compliance with regulations (stability analyses, hydrologic studies), coordination with various agencies, investigation of issues with dams, preliminary and final engineering services for maintenance and upgrades, oversight of construction projects, revisions to operations manuals, grant proposal production, and preparation of applications for necessary permits.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on August 1, 2026, and will run through July 31, 2027. There is an option to renew the contract for three successive one-year terms upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in Charlottesville, Virginia (Albemarle County).

Bidder Requirements
