eDNA for landscape scale biodiversity monitoring

Background

The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to procure a vendor capable of utilizing environmental DNA (eDNA) to assess biodiversity at strategic sampling locations. This initiative aims to enhance understanding of landscape characteristics and their impact on biodiversity, specifically in the vicinity of Savoy Mountain State Forest.

Work Details

The selected vendor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Meet with DCR to identify sampling locations. 2. Procure necessary equipment to complete the project. 3. Collect and analyze samples at agreed-upon locations. 4. Generate and provide results of sampling to DCR, including a species list per sample location. Proposals must itemize specific tasks and costs by fiscal year, adhering to the State fiscal year basis (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026).

Period of Performance

The estimated duration of the project is 6 weeks, with an anticipated completion date of June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in the vicinity of Savoy Mountain State Forest.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must comply with accessibility standards set forth by Executive Order 614 and the Americans with Disabilities Act Title II (ADA Title II). Proposals should demonstrate cost-effectiveness, ability to meet project timelines, technical approach, experience with similar projects, and qualifications of key staff.
