JCAC Executive Airport (OJC) Construct Runway 36 Runup Apron Project

Background

The Johnson County Airport Commission (JCAC) is issuing this solicitation for the construction of a new run-up area for Runway 36 at the Johnson County Executive Airport (OJC). The goal of this contract is to enhance airport operations and safety by improving runway access and infrastructure.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for all materials, labor, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary for the construction project. Specific tasks include: - Site preparation - Earthwork and approximately 25,200 cubic yards (CY) of embankment - Installation of 5,900 square yards (SY) of aggregate base and 5,800 SY of Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement - 1,900 square feet (SF) of pavement marking - Drainage improvements - Installation of approximately 1,100 linear feet (LF) of taxiway lighting - Electrical duct banks - Cabling - Regulator modifications - Removal of existing lighting systems - Approximately 3.0 acres of seeding and mulching.

Period of Performance

The contract performance period is expected to commence upon award and will continue until the completion of the project as specified in the bid documents.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Johnson County Executive Airport located at 15335 Pflumm Road, Olathe, Kansas.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a bid bond issued by a surety company licensed in Kansas for five percent (5%) of their total bid amount. Compliance with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements is mandatory, with a goal set at 0.0%. Bidders must also complete a Buy American Certificate as part of their submission. Evidence of competence to perform the work must be provided in accordance with the Bidding Documents. Additionally, compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act regarding wage rates is required.
