Rochester Town Office LED Lighting Upgrade

Background

The Town of Rochester, Vermont, is seeking bids for the construction of an LED lighting upgrade for their Town Office Building located at 67 School Street. This project aims to enhance energy efficiency as part of the Town's commitment to improving municipal facilities. Work Details

The work involves replacing existing interior lighting fixtures with new LED lighting fixtures and controls. The current first-floor lighting consists primarily of T8 fluorescent recessed troffers, while the lower level features T12 fluorescent recessed troffers and wraparound fixtures. The contractor will be responsible for: 1. Removing existing fixtures and properly disposing of lamps and ballasts. 2. Installing new LED fixtures that meet specified requirements including solid-state lighting certification, minimum efficacy of 120 lumens/watt, and a minimum warranty of 5 years. 3. Installing occupancy sensors in all regularly occupied spaces. 4. Ensuring proper mounting, alignment, and connection to existing wiring. 5. Providing training to facilities staff on the operation and maintenance of the new lighting system.

Construction is scheduled to take place during Summer to Fall 2026, with a required completion date of November 15, 2026.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a proposed list of subcontractors and comply with all applicable state and local permits including Division of Fire Safety regulations. Contractors must also be registered with the Vermont Secretary of State's office and submit documentation accordingly. Insurance coverage must be maintained as specified, including listing the State of Vermont and the Town as additional insured.
