Engineering Services for FY2026 CDBG Project Implementation

Background

The Town of Scooba is seeking proposals from qualified firms or individuals to provide engineering services for the implementation of approved FY2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies throughout the project lifecycle.

Work Details

The selected Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks: 1) Prepare plans and specifications; 2) Distribute bid documents; 3) Assist in bid opening and prepare bid tabulation; 4) Assist in the execution of construction contracts; 5) Hold pre-construction conferences; 6) Perform construction inspections, including periodic reports to the Town and approval of all payment requests. The Engineer will also prepare project cost estimates for application preparation and provide all engineering services through project closeout.

Period of Performance

The contract will be executed upon CDBG award(s) and removal of all environmental conditions, with a timeline that extends through project closeout as specified in individual contracts.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in Scooba, Mississippi, specifically related to the approved CDBG projects within the town.

Bidder Requirements

The Town encourages proposals from Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBEs), Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBEs), and Section 3 eligible businesses. Proposals must include detailed qualifications of assigned personnel, information on the firm's experience with similar projects, and identification of staff capacity for performance.
