Engineering Services for FY2026 CDBG Project Implementation

Background

The Town of Scooba is seeking proposals from qualified firms or individuals to provide engineering services for the implementation of approved FY2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws while facilitating the successful execution of these projects.

Work Details

The selected Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks: 1) Prepare project cost estimates for application preparation; 2) Prepare plans and specifications; 3) Distribute bid documents; 4) Assist in bid opening and prepare bid tabulation; 5) Assist in the execution of construction contracts; 6) Hold pre-construction conferences; 7) Perform construction inspections including periodic reports to the Town and approve all payment requests. All services must adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed from the award date until project closeout, contingent upon CDBG award(s) and removal of environmental conditions.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in Scooba, Mississippi.

Bidder Requirements

Proposals are encouraged from Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBEs), Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBEs), and Section 3 eligible businesses. Proposals must include detailed qualifications of personnel assigned to the project, information regarding the firm's experience with similar projects, and capacity for performance including staff assignments.
